Siri is a new built-in Application of the new iPhone 4S which allows through voice commands to tell the phone to finish some things. It is who knows what artificial intelligence, but can you read a message, to call the number, tell you what is the weather today, browse through Wikipedia and Google Maps, schedule a calendar, and other tasks.
Siri will be available in English, German and French. It is not known whether it will be available only for iPhone 4S or for other models. How other existing technologies, Siri problem may be the voice recognition and speech, not everyone speaks loud and clear enough to understand what you are looking from it. But what is new is that with Siri will follow the context of what you speak. According to Apple, the Siri will be able to speak as a person, as to go to "remind me to call the doctor." If he say "I want to find pizza restaurants that close," and then say "maybe I eat a hamburger?", Siri would know the first question that comes to restaurant and extend the application.
Apple says "Siri is a proactive, so you ask until you find what you're looking for."
Although Apple has bought Siri in April 2011, it is interesting that Apple since 1987 to present dream personal assistant, then called "Knowledge Navigator". Here is video of the former concept.
